Humane Law Enforcement Officer
Washington Humane Society
Washington Humane Society (WHS) is seeking an experienced Humane Law Enforcement (HLE) Officer. The officer would investigate animal neglect/cruelty complaints, work with Metro DC Police and other governmental agencies, interacts with the public. Officers collect evidence, research information for arrest/search warrants, document investigation details, impound animals if needed. Must have HS diploma and experience in local animal laws; great written/verbal communication skills; lift 50+ lbs; handle domestic/wild animals; valid driver’s license/good driving record, and pass criminal background checks; work on-call and weekends.
