Shelter Management Position Wanted

I am seeking a position in the animal welfare field where I can be a driving force responsible for helping save lives. I believe that the ultimate goal of animal welfare is to save all healthy and treatable animals. I am someone who not only understands that the work it takes is worth it, when the animals walk out of the shelter alive, but is compulsively driven by it. From my five plus years of work with rescue, I am proficient in overseeing volunteers, administering basic medical care, evaluating dogs’ temperaments and following state standards for shelters. I have played various roles in my time with rescue; these include adoptions, intake, fostering, fundraising, grant-writing and transport, spay and neuter and public relations/marketing. I know that it takes a person able to “wear many hats” in order to get the job done. I am very organized person and am highly motivated to save the lives of homeless companion animals. I have excellent time management skills. I am proficient on the computer and internet, to include all Microsoft Office programs (including Excel, Word and PowerPoint). I have used various databases and animal sheltering software and am very capable of quickly learning new programs. I am looking for a position that would have the support of Government (or Board of Directors) allowing me to utilize my knowledge of innovative and progressive life-saving programs. I have a college degree and am willing and able to continue any education or certification necessary for a position. I am ready to relocate for the right position. Please contact me for resume and references.
