Contact Name: Heather Bialy, Executive Director Contact E-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org Title: Director of Development Description: We are looking for an individual with experience in marketing and public relations to help raise funds for our shelter through events, develop and maintain a sponsorship program, recruit and maintain donors and donor relations, manage the advertising, marketing and branding elements on our website, and oversee the Volunteer/Outreach Coordinator as it related to these duties. Requirements: - Must be detail-oriented - Must be highly motivated and able to work independently and with groups - Must be outgoing and able to maintain relationships with potential donors and sponsors as well as additional contacts who can assist in event elements - Must be computer savvy and familiar with Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel and Outlook. - Must be able to function in a fast-paced changing environment. - Must be comfortable in an environment with animals that may be noisy at times Job Details Donor Relations and Marketing: - Perform prospect research on foundations, corporations, public sources and individuals to identify and evaluate prospective donors - Prepare, submit and manage grant proposals; Comply with grant reporting as required by funders - Coordinate the organization’s individual donor fundraising program, including the production of direct mail appeals, and implement donor recognition policies - Meet with current and prospective funders, vendors, affiliates, and other stakeholders to ensure AAC name recognition throughout community - Establish administrative systems and procedures to track, record, report, acknowledge, and recognize all contributions - Create a tiered sponsorship program with different levels of engagement for sponsors of the shelter - Prepare acknowledgement letters for all donors - Create and send out twice yearly newsletter and winter plea letter to donors Fundraising: - Design, coordinate and implement special fundraising events; Track event revenue and expenses - Oversee events to ensure accuracy, timeliness, communications and AAC brand representation of all fundraising events and community outreach programs - Ensure appropriate marketing of events for maximum public turnout - Solicit sponsors for AAC and related events Website: - Be accountable and responsible for Website Management and generation all of brand elements, look and feel of the www.AnimalAdoption.com - Monitor website statistics and traffic and report on effective key metrics, and trends - Coordinate with staff to keep content current - Responsible for making improvements or enhancements - Perform as editor of the site’s content and research information to ensure user accessibility and site performance Oversee Volunteer/Outreach Coordinator: - Coordinate updating of Petfinder.com and Facebook by the Volunteer/Community Outreach Coordinator. - Oversee Coordinator efforts in respect to keeping a full events calendar for offsite adoption events - Assist the Volunteer/Community Outreach Coordinator with advice in creating a volunteer program.
