• Manages the enforcement of animal control laws and ordinances. • Establishes section goals and addresses issues as a member of the management team. • Hires, trains, develops, supervises, and terminates staff. • Develops and recommends field policies, procedures and programs; monitors, evaluates and ensures their effective implementation. • Works with the District Attorney’s office in regards to legal procedures, search warrants, case investigation, court preparation, and testimony. • Reviews pending legislation regarding animal control related issues and makes recommendations as appropriate; tracks, evaluates, recommends changes to and assists in preparing County and City animal control ordinances.
