Looking for a Full Time Veterinarian in beautiful Taos, NM! You can make a big difference in the lives of many stray and abused animals. The Humane Society of Taos, dba Stray Hearts Animal Shelter is currently accepting applications for the position Director of Vet Services. Applicants must have a strong working knowledge of shelter medicine and protocols. A minimum of 1 year experience in shelter medicine. Must be licensed in the state of New Mexico or have the ability to obtain a license. Multi-tasking and good communication skills are vital. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES The primary responsibilities include performing spay/neuter surgeries for the shelter animals, performing additional surgeries as needed on shelter animals (e.g. nucleation, explanatories, tumor removal with biopsy, dentals, amputations), and monitoring the health of and treating animals in the shelter.
