The Operations Manager is responsible for the safe humane and cost-effective operation of the organization, providing a high standard of care to the animals in our custody, maintaining a good working relationship with staff, and encouraging teamwork and a positive working atmosphere. Duties and Responsibilities: Supervise small staff, volunteers and their daily activities. ~ Insure that humane care and proper attention is provided to all animals in the Society's custody. ~ Oversee and participate in smooth operation of the organization and see that work is done in a timely fashion and in accordance with established procedures. ~ Oversee prompt selection and processing of adoption animals. ~ Assist in ordering and receiving shelter equipment and supplies and keep record of same. ~ Manage and execute fundraiser events. ~ Help execute various marketing/communications projects. ~ Ideal candidate will exhibit the agility to make decisions, hold staff accountable and accomplish goals. ~ Schedule and conduct department meetings on a regular basis. ~ Participate in and contribute to community programs. ~Keep Shelter Director informed of activities. ~ Perform other duties as assigned to ensure a positive public image, to enhance the operation of organization and improve the quality of life for animals. Qualifications: Minimum of four years experience in animal care working with animals in a veterinary hospital or animal shelter and/or licensed AHT. ~ Minimum of two years supervisory experience. ~Ability to work well and communicate positively and effectively with the public, volunteers and staff. ~ Possess self-motivation and initiative. ~ Experience working with Excel, Word and Power Point. ~ Good communication skills, both oral and written. Maturity and good judgment is a must. ~ Possession of valid California driver's license and good driving record. ~ Must pass drug screening test and criminal background check. ~ Good physical and mental health.
