The Humane Society of Southern Arizona in Tucson, AZ is continually accepting resumes for a skilled veterinarian who is passionate about Shelter Medicine to join in the mission of saving lives. The Staff Veterinarian is responsible for performing high-volume spay and neuter surgeries on shelter animals, and sterilization of privately owned animals. This person assists the Chief Veterinarian in overseeing disease control of the kennel facilities and the health and welfare of the animals in our care, clinic facilities and in surgical record maintenance. They also promote animal health and welfare and spaying and neutering and vaccinations within the community. HSSA’s spay/neuter clinic performs about 10,000 surgeries per year. Must have strong veterinary medical and surgical skills and have the versatility and ability to adapt to new and different surgical procedures along with strong leadership and organizational skills. A Valid Arizona veterinarian's license and current D.E.A. Certificate are required along with a valid Arizona driver’s license and driving record acceptable to HSSA insurance carrier.
