Animal Caretaker

Washington Animal Rescue League

We are seeking dedicated individuals to care of shelter animals. Duties include: • Clean dog and cat areas • Provide food and water to animals • Report symptoms of illness, injuries, or abnormal behavior of animals to supervisor • Take select dogs out to dog parks on shelter grounds • Responsible for cleaning dog park and surrounding grounds Some physical demands include: • Frequent bending, walking and standing on feet 8 hours per day while performing job functions • Exposure to disinfectant and bleach solutions when cleaning • Subject to animal bites and scratches while handling animals or questionable temperament • Occasional lifting of up to 50lbs. with reasonable accommodations Qualified applicants must: • High school diploma or equivalent • Customer service experience • Available to work weekends, holiday shifts, and evenings
