Behavior Technician

Animal Welfare League of Alexandria

The Behavior Technician will implement enrichment protocols to support the mental health and well-being of the animals in our care. A major component of our enrichment program for dogs will include daily play groups. The Behavior Technician will be responsible for coordinating with staff and volunteers to carry out daily dog play groups. Other duties as assigned. This position will also provide assistance to volunteers, staff and the public on behavior issues based on departmental guidelines. While the majority of the Behavior Technician responsibilities involve working with dogs, a willingness to learn about and develop basic skills surrounding working with cats, rabbits and small animals is required.
