The Canine Manager is responsible for seeing animals through the program from intake to adoption, in addition to managing kennel staff, and managing and developing programs within the canine department. Responsibilities include conducting behavior evaluations on incoming animals, population management, processing, seeing through adoption plans for long-term animals, and aiding in euthanasia decisions. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated person who is positive, open-minded and forward thinking. They will possess strong organizational and people skills, have a firm understanding of animal behavior and animal sheltering and a good understanding of shelter medicine. They will have strong management and team-building skills as well as a proven success in program development. Bachelor’s Degree or 5 years relevant experience, and at least 1 year of experience conducting canine behavior evaluations required.
