The Humane Society of Southern Arizona in Tucson, AZ is has an immediate opening for a Lead Veterinarian who is passionate about Shelter Medicine to join in the mission of saving lives. The Lead Veterinarian provides medical oversight and treatment for all HSSA and public animals. The Lead Veterinarian oversees disease control of the kennel facilities and the health and welfare of the animals in our care and assists the Associate Clinic Director in the supervision of veterinary staff and the implementation of Best Practices. Veterinarian. HSSA’s spay/neuter clinic performs about 10,000 surgeries per year. This individual must have strong veterinary medical and surgical skills and strong managerial, leadership, and team-building skills. A Valid Arizona veterinarian's license and current D.E.A. Certificate are required along with a valid Arizona driver’s license and driving record acceptable to HSSA insurance carrier. The Humane Society offers a comprehensive benefits package.
