Shelter Director

Ellen M. Gifford Cat Shelter

Provides leadership and direction for the efficient and smooth operation of shelter operations, including the medical and disease management, business office, foster and adoption services, facilities and volunteer management. Manages inventory, purchases, shelter animal inventory and makes policy decisions regarding animal intake, placement, socialization and adoption. Ensures quality animal care, shelter cleanliness, and excellent customer service. Responsible for managing budgets, supervising staff and executing policy and procedures. Develops and implements programs to maintain and improve the standards of humane animal care. Will assume an active role in process and project management. Supervises shelter, animal welfare programs including assisting with foster and adoption programs, medical and population management, business office and maintenance. Ensures medical needs are identified, animals are receiving timely care.
