Shelter Veterinary Technician/Assistant

LifeLine Animal Project @ Fulton County Animal Services

LifeLine Animal Project has a Veterinary Technician/Assistant position open at Fulton County Animal Services. RVT/CVT preferred. Must have excellent skills including: calculating drug dosages; administering IV, IM and SC injections; IV catheter placement; anesthesia induction, intubation and monitoring; prepping for surgical procedures; performing lab tests such as fecal floats, SNAP tests and skin scrapings; sterilizing surgical instruments and maintaining equipment; restraint and physical exams; maintaining written and computerized medical records. You must be able to work as a team with other staff/departments to monitor the health of and make medical recommendations for approximately 400 resident shelter animals. This position is at a high intake, open admission county shelter, managed by a non-profit organization. Though we have dramatically reduced the euthanasia rate, the shelter is NOT no-kill, so only apply if you can handle working at a shelter where animals are euthanized.
