  • Neighborhood Cat Program Coordinator

    Palm Springs Animal Shelter

Palm Springs has an abundance of homeless cats. Through no fault of their own, these homeless cats live outside typical household situations, often in colonies. The cats are either “feral” (never been domesticated) or “stray” (a former domesticated pet that is now homeless), and together are often referred to as “Neighborhood cats” or “Community Cats”. The primary role of the TNR Coordinator’s is to reduce the homeless cat population in Palm Springs by facilitating all aspects of the Palm Springs Animal Shelter’s (PSAS) Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program. Other objectives include: increase neighborhood involvement, educate the community on the benefits of TNR, organically reduce the number of kittens coming into the Shelter, and support/guide the community on the long term management and care of our free-roaming cat population once they have gone thru TNR. Please see our website for more details and how to apply. http://palmspringsanimalfriends.ning.com/page/career-opportunities
