    The Volunteer & Offsite Coordinator works to support ACL’s growing volunteer program. Responsibilities include: Conducting new volunteer orientations; recruiting, training, developing and scheduling volunteers for all areas of ACL programs and services; Transporting animals to/from offsite events and acting as a lead at those events to ensure adoption goals are being met; maintaining spreadsheets and reports. This position requires a true passion for people in combination with a love for animals, exceptional inter-personal and organizational skills, as well as a high-comfort level speaking to groups and engaging people in conversation.     We’re looking for a new “pack” leader! Our new Canine Supervisor will conduct canine intakes, temperament evaluations, oversee medical care, and adoptions. They will counsel community members surrendering their dogs and offer post-adoption guidance. They will help create and implement behavior modification plans and socialization programs for in-house dogs. Some hours will be spent on routine tasks such as kennel cleaning and feeding. The successful candidate will have knowledge and experience in canine health, behavior and care. Two years of experience in a shelter, kennel, boarding, or training setting is greatly preferred, as is a commitment to positive reinforcement training. The physical ability to handle and restrain large dogs, lift up to 50 pounds, and bend or kneel for periods of time is required. Must also be computer savvy.
