Supervise and train staff in promoting and ensuring quality adoptions. Responsibilities: Provide outstanding customer service and ensure the staff does so too. Monitor associates in achieving adoption goals. Supervise staff associates, i.e., assign work, schedule breaks, monitor cleanliness and animal safety, and work performance. We are committed to an open admissions policy, animal rehabilitation and a euthanasia rate of less than 5%. Kitsap Humane Society is seeking an individual with a passion for animal welfare and strong people/customer service skills to be an Adoption Outreach Assistant. This position takes shelter pets (primarily dogs and cats) into pet stores and other community locations on the weekends to find the animals adoptive homes. This is both a customer service and animal handling position. The Adoption Outreach Assistant must be comfortable handling animals of all sizes and breeds, cleaning kennels, and working with people in a public setting. A big part of the Adoption Outreach Assistant’s job is discussing animals with prospective adopters to help them make a suitable choice, and talking about KHS’ mission and programs.
