    The Animal Welfare Association is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit HQHV Spay/Neuter and Pet Wellness Clinic and Adoption Animal Shelter. We are currently seeking to add an enthusiastic, hard-working technician to our medical team. The right candidate should have at least one year of experience with a veterinary practice or the equivalent. Prior experience in a high volume spay/neuter setting is preferred. Duties include but are not limited to animal restraint, anesthetic induction, surgical prep and monitoring, vaccinations, catheter placement, blood draws, prepping surgical packs, animal intakes and support during wellness appointments. Candidate must have excellent animal handling and communication skills. The ability and willingness to communicate positively and effectively with staff, volunteers and clients is a must.     Friends of Arlington Animal Services manages a fully equipped spay/neuter clinic in Arlington, TX focusing on free roaming/outdoor cats. We Trap-Neuter-Return approximately 2,000+ cats per year as well as rescue from our local shelter and release them after they have been spayed/neutered, given rabies vaccination, and ear tipped. We are looking to expand this program to meet the high demand for low cost spay/neuter services in Arlington. We are interviewing to contract with an experienced DVM with a particular focus on cats, to perform high volume spay/neuters as well as other medical services required. Our clinic is expanding and we have a dedicated group of volunteers that assist the veterinary staff. Be a apart of saving lives through this successful program. TNR reduces the populations of outdoor cats as well as prevents unwanted litters. This is a contract position and would grow with demand.
