    The Surgical Prep Tech assists the Veterinarian during medical and surgical procedures, monitors anesthesia, administers doses of medications and prepares samples to be sent to outside laboratories. Duties and Responsibilities: Prepare animals for surgical suite. Monitor animal, draw medications, administer medications, shave, intubate and generally prepare animal for surgery as required by veterinarian including blood draws, IV and performs blood, fecal and urinalysis. Move animal into and out of surgical suite. Maintain visual check on animals throughout the anesthesia process and post-recovery holding area. Perform Post-op release activities with customers. Assist in front office duties to include answering the telephones, scheduling appointments and other duties as assigned. Requirements: Preference will be given to applicants who are CVT, although a candidate with a minimum of 3 years technician experience will be considered.

    Responsibilities: Provide medical care under guidance of veterinarian for animals in shelter/foster care. Perform health evaluations for incoming/in care animals. Manage database to keep accurate records to ensure regular preventives are administered to animals and ensure timely progression to adoption. Perform humane euthanasia for public animals and occasionally untreatable BHS animals. Oversee medical and cross contamination protocol and ensure they’re followed by staff. Schedule: Full-time, M-F.
