Responsible for the development and recommendation of medical and surgical protocols. Oversees the implementation and establishment of approved policies and procedures for effective disease control, management, and treatment. Performs and maintains quality standards for surgery on both Society and community animals. This position also provides testimony and documentation of the condition of animals involved in cruelty investigations. Plays a lead role in engaging the veterinary community’s support for ongoing animal-related issues. Provides medical leadership to an overall staff of over 50 animal health professionals providing care for over 26,000 animals yearly. Consults on design and construction for extensive renovations to the main campus and the creation of a second campus on Oahu.
