    Baltimore Humane Society

    The Director provides professional and compassionate services to client families before, during, and after the loss of a pet. The role entails all phases of the funeral industry including removal of the deceased pet from the place of death, prep of the body and gravesite, and serving the family at the service and burial/cremation. Facilitates a monthly Pet Loss Counseling Group, and provides individual counseling as needed-training and certification can be provided if needed. Orders/maintains inventory of headstones and caskets. Includes some sales and marketing duties, as the Cemetery helps fund the mission of BHS. Must have excellent customer service skills, high level of compassion and integrity, ability to multitask while working independently, ability to lift at least 75 pounds, valid driver's license and reliable transportation, ability to be on call evenings, weekends and holidays, eagerness to assist clients in their time of need and grief, and computer proficiency.

  • Shelter Veterinarian (Part-Time)

    The Baltimore Humane Society

    The Baltimore Humane Society, located in Reisterstown, Maryland is seeking a part-time veterinarian to perform spays and neuters in their High Quality, High Volume Spay/Neuter Center. The job requires a current Maryland Veterinary License, proficiency in spay/neuter surgical procedures, a cheerful and positive attitude, and a commitment to preventing pet overpopulation and providing homes for the homeless pets in Baltimore. In addition, this veterinarian will help with the medical care of shelter animals. The position does not include any management responsibilities. The current surgical team is made up of a fun group of talented support staff that are eager to make your day in surgery a seamless one. The job is a 3-5 day per week position from 9am to ~2pm.
