    Animal Welfare League is a private group that has been contracted by Queen Anne's County to perform the animal services duties for the county. As an organization we are trying to institute progressive methods to save more lives. AWL is now looking for PT and/or FT animal caretakers. Caretakers provide quality daily care for the shelter animals. Responsibilities include disinfecting kennel, feeding, and enrichment. Cleaning tasks such as mopping, dishes, and laundry are expected. The caretakers are a key component to keeping our animals safe, healthy, and happy in the shelter environment; the animals thrive on quality time spent with them, learning their personalities and their needs, which can in turn be shared with potential adopters looking for their lifetime canine or feline companions. Duties include vaccinating animals during intake and adoption, venipuncture, medications, surgical assistance, customer service and education, humane euthanasia, shelter sanitation, and data entry.
