  • Lead Shelter Veterinarian

    No Kill Las Vegas

    No Kill Las Vegas is seeking applicants for a Lead Shelter Veterinarian, responsible for performing spay/neuter surgeries and daily shelter medicine duties, including treating animals in foster care, for a high-volume, open-admission, No Kill animal shelter. NKLV’s Lead Shelter Vet would be responsible for planning and implementing a comprehensive health care program for both shelter animals and those in foster homes. Applicants must have the ability to provide leadership and direction to employees and volunteers, as well as the ability to work cooperatively with the Director of Operations. This is a unique opportunity to be part of the leadership team in the No Kill effort in Las Vegas and manage its high-volume animal shelter. Candidates must posses a DVM or VMD degree from an accredited university with a Nevada license. Experience with high-volume spay/neuter and pediatric surgeries and/or working in an animal shelter or TNR program is highly desirable.

Applicants should also posses the ability to inspire inventiveness, resourcefulness, and problem solving among staff and volunteers, and a vision to excite the community. The Executive Director of No Kill Las Vegas (“NKLV”) would be responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising all aspects of NKLV operations, and developing a strategic plan for increasing community rates of lifesaving. Experience in fundraising is necessary. This is a unique opportunity to lead the No Kill effort in Las Vegas and manage its high-volume animal shelter. Candidates must posses a BS or BA and a minimum of three years experience in a supervisory position with transferable skills from a related field.
