    The Windham County Humane Society (WCHS) is a non-profit organization dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of animals as well as enhancing the relationship between individuals and pets through adoption, education, advocacy, compassion and promotion of animal welfare. Founded in 1887, WCHS helps both pets and domesticated animals through: Sheltering of homeless, abused, neglected and owner-surrendered animals (over 900 per year), Spay/neuter programs, Adoptions, Education, Vaccine clinics, Pet food assistance, Coordination of the investigation of reports of cruelty and neglect The Vet Tech and Feline Specialist is responsible for the health and well-being of all WCHS animals as well as for the overall care and management of cats, other small pets and exotics.
