Humane Society University
Humane Society University (HSU) provides professional development and training—as well as undergraduate and graduate degrees with partnered universities—for the animal sheltering, protectionist, and advocacy communities.

HSU teaches today’s advocates for tomorrow. We offer professional instruction nationwide on diverse topics—everything from animal sheltering basics and leadership development to combating compassion fatigue and illegal animal fighting. Our goal is to bring specific training programs to the people who need them the most.

HSU’s programs include:

  • User-friendly online courses that can fit any schedule for animal care and control professionals
  • Online academic programs partnered with major universities, including Duquesne University's B.S. in Humane Leadership and M.S. in Community Leadership, and George Washington University's Graduate Certificate in Community Advocacy for Non-Profit Organizations
  • Regional workshops on a variety of topics

HSU seeks to meet the learning needs of every member of the animal protection community.
