Santa Barbara, California

Santa Barbara, California

Bill Hepp
The organization: Bunnies Urgently Needing Shelter (BUNS), an all-volunteer nonprofit organization that cares for rabbits and guinea pigs at the Santa Barbara County Stray Animal Shelter under a resolution passed by the county board of supervisors

Year established: 1992

Resources: About 20 volunteers care for 35 to 50 rabbits and guinea pigs.

Population size served: 250,000
