Rebecca Rader

Staff Veterinarian, Muttville Senior Dog Rescue

Dr. Rebecca Rader grew up in Illinois and graduated from University of Illinois Veterinary School in 2006. She then completed a 1 year general internship at Bay Area Veterinary Specialists in San Leandro, California. Her residency program in Emergency and Critical Care took her to Ocean State Veterinary Specialists in Rhode Island for 4 years, but her love for the San Francisco Bay Area brought her back to California in 2011 after completion of her residency. After working full time in a 24 hour Specialty and ER clinic for several years, Dr. Rader noticed a deficit in geriatric and end-of-life care. This passion for senior animals aligns well with Muttville Senior Dog Rescue’s mission of giving senior dogs a second chance at life, so she joined Muttville as their first staff veterinarian in 2015 and has been helping them develop their geriatric and hospice care program ever since. She is also pursuing veterinary certification in Animal Hospice and Palliative Care through the International Association of American Hospice and Palliative Care. Outside of work, Dr. Rader enjoys traveling, live music, and spending time with her family, which involves two Chihuahua Muttville alumni.
