Hotel and travel information
Check the presenter email you received for information on booking your hotel room. For general information on Expo accomodations visit our Hotel & Travel page.
Can I find out how many people are attending my workshop?
During the registration process, attendees are asked to select the workshops they plan to attend. Although they may change their minds and we have many on-site registrants, these numbers give a good estimate. To request the estimated number of attendees in your session, please email email@example.com.
How will the meeting room be setup and what audiovisual equipment is available to me?
Rooms will be set either classroom or theater. Workshop rooms are assigned based on capacity and anticipated attendance. We cannot guarantee the type of set-up that will be in your specific workshop. The following will also be provided: head table and chairs, tabletop microphone with stand, podium, one wireless lavalier microphone, one laptop computer, one wireless navigator PPT remote and laser pointer. Each room will also have available a LCD player (for PowerPoint presentations), one screen, two wireless microphones in aisles for Q&A, a whiteboard and markers. Internet will not be available so please download any videos or sound clips prior to arrival.
How should I set up my PowerPoint?
PowerPoints should be created in 16:9 widescreen format. You do not have to use a PowerPoint template provided by The HSUS but if there is more than one presenter for your workshop we encourage you to use the same PowerPoint template for cohesion.
Will my presentation be pre-loaded in the room before I arrive?
It is your responsibility to bring the presentation on a thumb drive or CD and load it on the provided laptop computer prior to the start of your workshop. Technicians will be available if you need assistance. You may load your presentation in the morning on the day you are presenting before any of the workshops begin. If you bring a MAC computer, you must also provide the appropriate dongle. It is strongly recommended that all presenters bring their presentation on a thumb drive to minimize technology issues and time to get your presentations up and running.
Will The HSUS be providing handouts?
Handouts will be available to attendees online prior to the conference. Speakers must submit their handouts via the online form no later than April 20, 2018.
What should I do when I arrive at the conference?
Check in at the HSUS registration counter during registration hours and pick up your name badge. You are not required to be anywhere until your scheduled workshop(s) so feel free to attend and enjoy the conference.
What if I need assistance during the conference?
Each workshop will have a workshop monitor, who will introduce themselves to you. If you have any issues during your presentation, please alert the workshop monitor. If you need assistance at any other time, please go to the Expo registration counter.
After my workshop, can I review the workshop evaluations that attendees complete?
To request your workshop evaluations, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. Evaluations will be available by late June.
