Evolving our work in companion animal welfare to address systemic poverty and connect with people and pets in underserved communities is not easy and requires financial resources. In order to gain access to funding for community-based animal welfare work, you must first take a step back and consider if your organization is both conceptually and practically grounded in an understanding of how animal welfare is connected to larger systemic challenges for people and pets. In this session, you will hear from experts on how to effectively message to both donors and funders your work to provide pet owner support programming and increase equity in access to pet resources, as well as how to create a holistic sustainability plan.
