This is an archived session from 2020.

As animal welfare advocates, we are invested in ensuring dogs and cats are happy, comfortable and experiencing the best life possible. But how do we know? Drawing on current research, we will review what we know (and don’t) about the meaning of quality of life (QoL) in cats and dogs and best practices for assessing it, as perceived by the pet parent. We will discuss the potential value of adding a QoL assessment to your community wellness and clinical care programs and considerations in choosing the right measure for your needs.  A list of resources will be provided.
