Harnessing strong media engagement is essential for successful animal advocacy and lifesaving. This interactive and informative session will provide key media engagement tools, strategies to develop and present a clear and unified message, and on-camera interview tips. Participants will have the opportunity to participate in an exercise to apply their knowledge in the second half of the session. This session will be presented by Kirsten Peek, public information officer at the Humane Society of the United States. Kirsten runs the media training program for spokespeople at the HSUS and conducts media outreach in the field during disasters and cruelty cases.
