The last decade has brought significant changes to the field of animal welfare, leading many progressive shelters to take a fresh look at the way they do business. As the reality of our day-to-day work shifts, so do the needs of our community, our adopters, our volunteers and even our donor base. This session will explore one adoption center-shelter’s journey as it moves from a traditional pet-focused mission to one that embraces not only the pets, but also the people who love them.
