The Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando (PAGO) established the Pet Apartment Registry in 2017 to reduce shelter intake of dogs due to housing issues. PAGO commissioned an economic impact study to show the financial impact of accepting all dogs regardless of breed or size. The resulting increase in housing options has led to a notable decrease in the number of dogs surrendered due to housing issues—from 19.9% in January 2017 to 10% in January 2019. This session is for attendees of any experience level and will include practical tips and lessons on how to effectively engage property owners in your community.
