Humane State Ohio shelter/rescue training

Training for shelters, rescue groups and other animal welfare organizations

Have you ever wondered what the dogs in your care are really trying to tell you? How can you tell if a dog is stressed – and how can you help him relax? In this day-long training, you’ll learn how to interpret and respond to canine body language, get tips on incorporating best behavior practices and stress-reduction strategies into daily operations, assessing behavior in the shelter environment and how behavior should (and sometimes shouldn't) influence adoptions. The Humane State Program is pleased to partner with ASPCA experts in canine behavior, Pia Silvani, CPDT-KA, CCBC, Director, Behavior Rehabilitation and Cheryl Suydam, Manager, Behavior Rehabilitation.
