Training for law enforcement personnel, animal control officers and humane officers

We are excited to announce the launch of our Humane State Wisconsin Year 1 trainings! Join us for one of four upcoming free trainings for law enforcement and animal control officers. Lunch and coffee will be provided and valuable prizes will be raffled. Earn continuing education credits (approval pending with the Wisconsin Department of Justice).

  • Thursday, March 7: Waukesha

Topic: Animal Cruelty and Fighting Investigations

This course covers statistics on animal cruelty, the link between animal abuse and violent crime, commercial breeding facilities, illegal animal fighting (dogfighting and cockfighting), applicable state and federal laws, investigative techniques, search warrants, evidence collection, and prosecution preparation. This 7 hour course consists of lecture, videos, and handout materials.
