Merrimack River Feline Rescue Society is a nationally recognized, nonprofit, volunteer-driven organization committed to ensuring the health and welfare of feral and domestic cats and kittens by promoting proactive, compassionate, no-kill programs. Programs include a no-kill adoption center (and foster network) in Salisbury, a mobile spay/neuter clinic (Catmobile) based out of Holliston and covering all of Eastern MA, a feral program (spay/neuter clinics, financial assistance for vet care, and assistance with TNR), and a spay/neuter resource hotline. Since our inception, MRFRS has assisted over 117,000 cats — placing over 20,600 cats and kittens into homes, spaying or neutering over 13,000 feral cats at our TNR clinics, and over 56,000 cats on our Catmobiles.
The Administration Manager performs a range of administrative functions, including accounting, HR, facilities management, office support and program/grant management. The Administration Manager reports to the Executive Director, works in conjunction with an Accounting Consultant and supervises two staff members.
Specifically, the Administration Manager duties fall into the following areas:
- Finance: Maintain accounting system and files, assist with budgets, monthly forecasts and annual audits, AP/AR, taxes, bank recs, donor deposits, and inkind ledger.
- Administration: Provide general assistance to the Executive Director. Manage and maintain HR files, coordinate new employee and exit paperwork, manage employee benefits, coordinate facilities and vehicle maintenance, and conduct office/clerical duties, mail distribution, supply procurement, and vendor relations.
- IT Management: (with support from an IT consultant) Procure and maintain computer/telephone systems, manage and ensure comprehensive backup system, track inventory of hardware, software and licenses, maintain/troubleshoot email and functional aspects of website.
- Program Management: Supervise volunteer management, Catmobile administration, feral clinics and medical financial assistance programs.
Qualifications and Skills:
Significant experience with QuickBooks is strongly preferred. Solid computer skills required and ability to troubleshoot computer/internet issues under the guidance of an IT consultant. Candidate must take initiative and have excellent communication skills (written and oral), strong basic math skills and strong project leadership and organizational skills. Must be able to lift 40 lbs regularly, and up to 65 lbs occasionally. Must be able to climb stairs. Bachelor’s Degree or relevant professional/life experience required. A car and valid driver’s license required.
