Adoption, Foster, and Transport Specialists play a key role in achieving Best Friends Animal Society’s organizational no-kill mission and goals. Adoption, Foster, and Transport Specialists act with urgency and efficiency to find adoption, foster, and transfer outcomes for animals in care at the Sanctuary. With lifesaving outcome success, Best Friends can continually save animals at risk of being killed in shelters in Utah, and across the country.
This person is responsible for the implementation, daily functions, and growth of lifesaving outcome programs including adoptions, transports/transfers and foster care of animals at the Sanctuary. While this role includes responsibilities in all outcome programs, Adoption, Foster, and Transport Specialists may receive intensive assignments in a particular program, based on organizational needs.
Promote, coordinate, and facilitate mobile, remote, and on-site pet adoptions; providing superior customer service, new pet parent counselling, and post-adoption support throughout.
Coordinate and conduct transport program operations including but not limited to animal selection, travel logistics (flight bookings, driving/driver recruitment, vehicle preparation), records management, supply management, and vehicle management.
Recruit, support, empower and enable volunteer foster parents through regular communication, training, and guidance with the goal of utilizing volunteers to expand Best Friends lifesaving capacity.
