This is a unique opportunity for an experienced shelter medicine veterinarian who has the energy and passion to lead their own 501c3 foundation! If you dream of managing your own animal shelter/rescue, this is a chance to walk into a leadership role in an established, successful organization with a 16-year history, a medical clinic /surgery suite and adoption center, a strong revenue stream, a large base of donors and volunteers, and a supportive board of directors.
Nine Lives, founded in 2004, is a non-profit 501c3 organization that rescues cats and kittens from high-kill shelters and at-risk homeless situations. We are a no-kill shelter providing on-site medical care, low-cost spay/neuter for community cats, and adoptions. We perform over a thousand adoptions and several thousand spay/neuter surgeries annually, in addition to other medical services for cats in need.
Due to poor health, the founder / chief veterinarian needs to retire. This leaves open a leadership position with the potential to shape a new future for the organization, and, in collaboration with the board of directors, evolve its vision and structure in line with your passion. If you are excited about this challenge, please contact me for more information.
