Community Resources Manager

Non exempt, full time position
Position summary: This position works to serve the community by providing resources to community members that help them keep their pets in homes. This position also oversees the TNR program for the DCSPCA.

Essential Function/Major Responsibilities:
Conduct all functions of managing TNR program including:
Collecting information on colonies that need to be altered
Conducting site assessments and talking with property owners to gain necessary permissions
Managing volunteer team of trappers
Managing process of return to field
Tracking metrics for colonies
Compiling monthly metrics for board
Conducting trapping as needed
Manages pet food pantry services
Partners with community programs to ensure community members in need have access to food and supplies for their pet
Track and report metrics applicable to program monthly
Moves food to pantry or ensures it is done
Manages rabies clinics and partnerships
Plans and conducts rabies clinics 6 times per year
Manages community microchipping program
Develops partnerships with veterinarians in Dutchess County to provide low cost microchips to clients
Tracks and reports metrics applicable to the program monthly
Ensures all community ACO’s have microchip scanners and tracks equipment being provided
Develops and manages volunteer field teams to conduct work related to pet retention in the community.
Checks in regularly with humane law in relation to community needs.

Working knowledge of shelter terminology and processes
Willingness to work with animals with difficult dispositions
Ability and initiative, working with minimal supervision and direction.
Maturity, excellent judgment, and a professional appearance.
Willingness to learn new skills

Physical Requirements:
Physical ability to walk and or stand on your feet throughout a normal workday required. Ability to bend and squat.
Physical ability to engage in repetitive motions of legs, arms, and hands and to hear and see clearly.
Physical ability to push up to 150lbs and to carry up to 50lbs regularly and independently throughout a regular workday required.
Allergic conditions, which may be aggravated when handling or working with animals, may be a disqualification.
