This critical position is responsible for the oversight and success of the New Orleans Humane Law and Rescue organization including Animal Care, Behavior Evaluation, Client Care, Adoptions, Foster Care, Law Enforcement and Rabies Licensing. This position will ensure that the highest quality of services is delivered to the community, as well as ensure the efficient daily operations of the LA/SPCA shelter.

Responsible for leading organizational and procedural change and communicates change clearly and succinctly to all team members, senior leadership, and outside constituents;
An effective delegator, the position makes sure that all employees receive the correct technical and leadership training, and that effective procedures and guidance tools are continuously improved, updated and maintained;
Excels in building effective and collaborative relationships with customers, other animal welfare/control agencies and all parts of the organization as community issues;
Takes the lead role in ensuring business continuity in emergencies and develops and maintains the Storm/Emergency Response Plan;
The role has overall responsibility for ensuring that all controlled substances are accounted for and will assist in euthanasia decisions. As a result, it is a requirement for this position to become certified in euthanasia and perform euthanasia as required;
