High Country Humane (HCH) in Flagstaff, Arizona, is seeking an experienced and successful professional who shares our commitment to serving the needs of pets and their people to lead our organization.
A passion to provide the highest standard of care for animals and to be of service to the people who love them is required for this position. The successful candidate will have experience, preferably in the nonprofit sector, with organization and program development, management, and assessment. They will have led a creative and dynamic fund development program, with proven success in the cultivation and ongoing engagement of supporters. HCH’s Executive Director is also the public face of our organization, serving as the primary spokesperson and #1 relationship and partnership builder. As a result, the ability to communicate effectively and authentically engage community partners and stakeholders is crucial. The needs of animals and their people in the communities we serve are complex, and though direct experience in animal welfare is not required, the ability to learn and grasp quickly the nuances of our work is necessary. And finally, our work is only as good as our people. We are seeking a leader with demonstrated success engaging and inspiring our most valuable resource, our staff, volunteers, and community partners.
