*We are Clermont Animal CARE and will be launching Cincinnati Animal CARE at the Northside shelter on August 1st, 2020! We're hiring for the Cincinnati location.

The Foster Coordinator will be responsible for developing and running a comprehensive, best practice foster program that is focused on lifesaving. This position will oversee a team of foster families as well as work closely with our medical team, behavior team and Animal Care Coordinator. The Foster Coordinator will report directly to the Lifesaving Manager.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Work collaboratively with staff members to support medical and behavior programs, as well as, shelter population flow
Establish short and long term departmental goals aligned with the shelter’s mission
Create training materials and presentations
Recruit, onboard and train new foster caregivers
Respond to foster questions
Process foster placements
Develop specialized foster programs such as behavior and medical fosters
Develop and offer a wide variety of foster opportunities such as Day Trips, Overnights, and short-term fostering
Develop protocol for a best practice foster program
Ensures the sound implementation of plans, appropriate documentation, and appropriate risk mitigation strategies are in place.
Monitor ongoing progress through thorough data tracking and make adjustments when required or proactively anticipate, identify and resolve program issues
Proactively seek solutions to challenges
Pursue and maintain relationships with foster caregivers
Assist with strategic planning and reporting
Watch for and recognize safety/security risks and communicate them effectively in order to prevent injury
Willingness to ask questions and seek additional information either through communication with leadership or independent research.
Be available to address foster concerns on weekends and evenings as they arise
Perform any and all other duties as assigned

Required Experience:

Knowledge of animal welfare and cat/dog health issues
Comfortable handling cats/dogs of all sizes and breeds
Understanding of, and commitment to, mission, vision and values of Cincinnati Animal CARE Humane Society and the No Kill movement
$18/hour, health insurance, PTO, retirement
