Job Description

The shelter medicine program at MADACC is a key component in our efforts to achieve our organization’s objectives which are focused on caring for animals and improving placement rates. The Veterinarian is a key member of the Medical Department, bringing his/her knowledge of shelter animal care and surgical expertise to the team. The Veterinarian will be responsible for performing surgical procedures (primarily spay/neuter of cats and dogs but other procedures done as needed) and physical examinations on healthy and sick shelter animals.

Our medical department is equipped with modern diagnostic equipment for triaging injured animals from the 19 municipalities that comprise Milwaukee County. We have digital radiography, ultrasound, and dental equipment. Our facility was fully renovated in 2016 and was designed with animal health and quality of life as the focus.

The Veterinarian position is an exempt, full time, 40 hour per week position.
