Location: Houston, TX
The Volunteer Engagement Manager is responsible for the recruitment, assignment, management and training of all volunteers within Houston Programs for Best Friends working towards No Kill 2025 and beyond. This position is the central point of contact for all relationship development, management and growth for our volunteers with a heavy focus on retention and relationships.
- Plan, implement, facilitate, monitor, and evaluate all volunteer and foster programs issues and needs including but not limited to: oversight of foster/volunteers (lead and volunteer coordinators; foster coordinators), foster/volunteer engagement, volunteer mentors, foster/volunteer onboarding process, data entry accuracy and input, performance management, foster/volunteer and staff appreciation gatherings.
- Ensure integration of the Houston volunteer program with national volunteer and volunteer engagement areas as appropriate.
- Oversee and evaluate strategic recruitment of specific volunteer and foster needs for the support of lifesaving programs, including increasing bottle baby foster homes and all identified specialized volunteer roles for lifesaving needs.
- Oversee the development of foster and volunteer operational programming, including creation/auditing of new volunteer or foster opportunities to maximize lifesaving needs.
