Disaster preparedness - quick tips
  • Have airline crates on hand that have not been compromised by the elements - Air transport has become more common and can actually be safer and quicker during a disaster for shelter pets.

  • Know your local Emergency Management contact and understand your role in the community plan. For a contact you can reach out to your County Manager’s Office.

  • Share a written and up to date disaster plan with staff. Staff members should know their roles in advance and establish a phone tree.
