Locate existing spay/neuter resources

Conduct a community assessment to discover where the need is greatest

Most communities need more spay/neuter resources. But before you decide on a model and location it is important to assess your community for where the need is greatest, and not to duplicate efforts. Are existing services accessible for all residents? Do there need to be more services for community cat surgeries? Take a holistic look at your spay/neuter capacity and community starting with these resources.

  • Spay/Neuter Locator - See who's already providing low- or no-cost spay/neuter in your area and/or sign your organization up so people can find you.
  • Where to Find Help for Community Cats - Are there existing community cat services in your community already? To make it easier for you to help community (feral and stray) cats, The HSUS has compiled a comprehensive list of resources, including community cat orgainzations, shelters, rescue groups, veterinary clinics and spay/neuter clinics, organized by U.S. state/territory and Canadian province.
