Heidi Schmitt is a specialist for HumanePro.org, the Humane Society of the United States’ online resource for people working or volunteering in the animal welfare field. Heidi is passionate about ending breed discrimination and supporting other animal welfare initiatives. She owns and operates a pet care business where she educates clients about the benefits of positive reinforcement training. In her free time, you’ll find her volunteering for her local shelter and fostering animals. She lives in Iowa with her partner and their two dogs, Koda and Diesel (aka Peetman).
