Job Description

The Animal Behavior Assistant is an ideal entry level position for someone with a strong interest in animal behavior and training using science-based methods. You’ll gain hands-on experience in enrichment while working closely with our Director of Animal Behavior. In addition to working with a broad range of animals, including dogs, cats, rabbits, and other small animals, responsibilities include cleaning and preparing training areas and enrichment tools. You will interact with the public, volunteers, and shelter staff, and must be able to do so in a positive and professional manner. Opportunities exist for 1 full-time position (splitting time between our two shelters), 1 part-time position at Quakertown, 1 part-time position at Lahaska. Some evening and weekend hours required.
