Sharon Pailler

Research Director, ASPCA

Sharon Pailler is Director of Research with ASPCA, leading research efforts in Access to Basic Veterinary Care and Veterinary Medicine. Sharon is trained as an economist and conducted social science research in environmental conservation and international development for 15 years. She is published in prominent journals including the Journal of Environmental Economics and Management, Conservation Letters and World Development. Sharon previously worked as a Senior Social Scientist at World Wildlife Fund, a Research Economist with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, a Program Manager for a humanitarian aid agency in Democratic Republic of Congo, and a Peace Corps Volunteer in West Africa. She holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Clark University, a M.S. in Forest and Natural Resources Management and Policy from SUNY-ESF, and a Master of Public Administration from Syracuse University. Outside of work, Sharon spends most of her time rock climbing, hiking and snuggling with her two cats.
